It’s time! Patience Can Cook a Stone is about to be born.

Book Three of The Duncullen Saga is completed and in the process of publication. It won’t be months—it’ll be weeks–late December or early January.

One of the most fun and exciting parts of this process is obtaining a cover. Years ago, when putting Aroon together, I discovered a lovely and talented man with a beautiful eye for design. Panagiotis Lampridis is from Athens, Greece, and has designed all my covers. I found him on fiverr.com, a site to find graphic designers and other computer-based services.

When selling books at Aiken’s Strawberry Festival, a man looking at Aroon and Harps Upon the Willows noted that both my covers featured buildings. Though that may seem obvious to you, I hadn’t noticed it before. Clearly, my new cover must feature a building.

Set in the backwoods of colonial South Carolina, I thought a plantation home would work best. I hunted everywhere for a photo of one that would match my description of the fictional homeplace for Kilkenny Plantation. After many months of searching, I purchased the rights to a photo of the Hopsewee Plantation home outside Georgetown, South Carolina. I had visited the house there years ago when I signed up to learn how to weave sweetgrass baskets.

I also suggested the Savannah River where much of the story’s action takes place. I took a photo at Burton’s Landing and sent it as an example. Panagiotis used my photo! I’m so proud.
